Characteristics and Experiences of Ride-Hailing Drivers with Plug-in Electric Vehicles
Researchers at the PH&EV Center, in partnership with Uber Technologies, Inc., conducted a survey of drivers in North America who use a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV = battery electric or plug-in hybrid) to provide ride-hailing services with the company.
The resulting report describes 732 United States drivers in terms of their demographic characteristics, motivations for driving PEVs on a transportation networking company (TNC), charging patterns, and ideas to improve the experience of driving PEVs on TNCs.
Greater understanding of these early adopters can inform strategies to promote further adoption of PEVs among TNC drivers.
