Maximizing End-of-Life Value of Traction Lithium Batteries RFP
Optimizing the recycling of lithium ion battery packs has been identified as a potential method to reduce the high costs of vehicle batteries. Researchers believe advancements in the recycling process could lead to higher yield of valuable materials from lithium ion battery recycling, thus increasing the salvage value of the battery and could reduce the overall cost of new lithium ion traction battery manufacturing.
Applicants should refer to the recent review of existing battery recycling processes performed by UC Davis researcher Dr. Andy Burke, and posted as a reference below. This solicitation is limited to California entities.
